Kit Harington, known for his role in Game of Thrones, has cast significant doubt on his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Dane Whitman, a character briefly teased in the post-credits scene of 2021's Eternals. Harington expressed his desire to reprise the role but conceded to MovieWeb, "I don't think there's any plan to. I hate to break it to you."

Blade's Exit and Marvel's Challenges

This revelation follows Mahershala Ali's recent confirmation that he has "moved on" from his long-anticipated role as Blade, a character also introduced via an off-screen voice in the same Eternals post-credits sequence. Ali directly attributed his departure to Marvel's protracted delays, stating, "[Marvel] had me under contract, they have billions of dollars. If they wanted to do the movie, we would've done the movie. So we're not doing the movie."

The future of characters introduced in Eternals, for what it's worth, appears increasingly bleak. The film, directed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao, struggled critically and commercially by Marvel's usual high standards, leading to an absence of sequel discussions or subsequent appearances by its main cast.
