Barcelona has officially secured the services of Brazilian international Gabriel Jesus, completing his transfer from Arsenal. The prolific forward, born in São Paulo in 1997, has committed to a three-season deal with the Catalan giants, immediately integrating into the Blaugrana's technical project. This move sees Jesus return to Spanish football, having previously made significant impacts in England with Manchester City and Arsenal, and earlier in Brazil with Palmeiras.
Jesus's Illustrious Career Journey
Gabriel Jesus began his professional journey with Palmeiras, where he debuted in 2015, quickly establishing himself as a rising star by winning the Copa do Brasil in 2015 and the league title in 2016, also earning the best player award. His exceptional performances paved the way for a move to Europe, joining Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the summer of 2016. During his tenure with the Citizens, he amassed 236 appearances, scoring 95 goals and providing 45 assists, contributing to four Premier League titles, an FA Cup, four League Cups, and two Community Shields. He then moved to Arsenal in July 2022, where he registered 32 goals and 22 assists across 123 matches. A significant anterior cruciate ligament injury in January 2025 sidelined him until December of that year, yet he still played a part in Arsenal's 2025/26 Premier League triumph, netting three goals in 14 appearances.
