A Royal Mail postman is under investigation after being filmed kicking a blind Shih Tzu to death. The shocking incident, which occurred in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, was captured on a Ring doorbell camera. Footage shows the postman, wearing an England shirt, delivering a parcel before turning and kicking the 11-year-old dog, Ethel, with considerable force.
Cruel Act Captured on Camera
The dog's owner, Eve Lewis, 40, stated that Ethel was partially blind and posed no threat. "He didn’t just kick her, he toe punted her like she was a football. She flew up in the air and hit the ground and rolled three times," Lewis recounted, deeply distressed. The NHS worker rushed Ethel to the vet, but the dog's condition rapidly deteriorated due to internal bleeding and irreversible brain damage.

Investigation and Aftermath
Vets determined Ethel's cause of death as organ failure resulting from blunt force trauma. Royal Mail has issued a statement expressing deep regret and confirming a full investigation is underway, with the postman reportedly suspended. Thames Valley Police are also involved, conducting enquiries into animal welfare and criminal damage. The family has been assured that veterinary costs will be covered.
