Sonos has officially unveiled its latest audio innovation, the Ace Ultra headphones, marking a significant evolution from its original Ace model. These upgraded headphones introduce a groundbreaking feature: the ability to seamlessly swap audio directly with any Sonos speaker or soundbar, eliminating the previous reliance on soundbar-only transfers. All things considered, this expanded compatibility positions the Ace Ultra as a more integral part of the Sonos ecosystem, allowing users to transition content from their TV, local media, or streaming services with a single button press.
Enhanced Performance and Battery Life
Beyond system integration, the Ace Ultra boasts substantial performance enhancements. Sonos confirms up to double the active noise cancellation (ANC) compared to its predecessor, a direct result of two additional microphones. Users can also anticipate an impressive five additional hours of battery life, extending total listening time to 35 hours with ANC activated. New ear pads further contribute to passive noise isolation, refining the overall listening experience. An 8-band EQ provides granular control over sound profiles, catering to audiophiles and casual listeners alike.

Design Continuity and Availability
While packed with internal upgrades, the Ace Ultra maintains several beloved features from the original design. Adaptive ANC, which adjusts to fit changes, remains, as does the sidetone function for clear call audio. Onboard controls, centered around the intuitive Content Key button for volume and playback, also carry over. Dolby Atmos compatibility and options for lossless audio via Bluetooth (aptX Adaptive) or wired USB-C connections ensure premium sound quality. The Ace Ultra will be available starting September 29, priced at $449, and offered in four distinct colors: black, white, tan, and blue. This new model, priced $50 higher than the standard Ace, broadens Sonos’s premium headphone offerings without replacing the original.
