Sony has unveiled its new Bravia Theater Trio, a three-piece sound system positioned as a premium alternative to traditional soundbars for consumers with ultra-large televisions. Priced at $2,200, this setup aims to deliver an immersive audio experience that complements massive displays, addressing the challenge of soundbars appearing disproportionately small next to 85-inch screens or larger.

Addressing Large TV Audio Challenges

The Bravia Theater Trio comprises a compact, soundbar-like central speaker dedicated to dialogue clarity, flanked by two larger vertical speakers. These side units, standing over 13 inches tall, are designed to enhance directional sounds and overall spatial audio. The system incorporates larger drivers in the center for improved voice clarity, while each side speaker features a front-facing woofer and tweeter, plus an angled up-firing driver for a more enveloping soundstage. Connectivity and User Experience

Wireless connectivity between the three components simplifies installation; only power cords are needed for the side speakers, and a power cable plus HDMI eARC for the central unit to the TV.
