This overture comes amidst an ongoing standoff between the ECA and the remaining proponents of the breakaway league, Real Madrid and Barcelona, as a pivotal European Court of Justice ruling on UEFA and FIFA's monopolies looms.

Juventus Rejects Immediate Return

Al Khelaifi, who also chairs Paris Saint-Germain, reiterated his stance following an ECA meeting, emphasizing that there are "no taboos" for Juventus should they cease their involvement in the controversial elite competition. The Super League, championed by Andrea Agnelli two years ago when he led Juventus and seceded from the ECA, aimed to establish a closed transnational championship, guaranteeing sporting and economic security for a select few "big" clubs. Public backlash, particularly from English fans, forced many initial participants, including Milanese clubs, to withdraw.

Pending Court Decision Shapes Future

Despite Al Khelaifi's clear message, Juventus has, as it stands, declined the invitation. The Bianconeri press service informed Reuters that the club is "not considering returning to the ECA for the moment." This decision holds until the European Court of Justice delivers its verdict on December 21 regarding the alleged monopolies held by UEFA and FIFA in organizing sports competitions.
